Guerande Sea Salt

Guérande Sea salt : age-old expertise !

The profession of the salt farmer, or “paludier”, is based on skills developed over many centuries, with no use of heavy mechanisation. This traditional technique ensures the production of high quality salt and preserves the unique environment of the Guérande salt marshes.

With the introduction of two new formats, today there are 4 coarse and fine salt products in the Label Rouge range – a symbol of the superior quality of the salt from Guérande region.

Label Rouge Guérande coarse sea salt
The Guérande coarse sea salt is harvested every day in summer when the mild weather combines wind and sunshine on the Guérande peninsula. Towards the end of the afternoon, through the effects of evaporation, the salt is concentrated, producing crystals. Guérande coarse sea salt is naturally grey in colour as it crystallises on contact with the clay from which it draws its wealth of trace elements.

Rich in aroma…

The Guérande salt is gentle on the palate with a rich flavour which makes it the favourite salt for seasoning stock and vegetable cooking water, but also for grilling and salt crust dishes. It is unwashed, unrefined and has no additives, providing the ideal flavouring for family and traditional cuisine.
